Torah Fund is the dedicated philanthropy of the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism and has raised over $111 million over eight decades.
The theme for our 2026 – 2027 campaign is “Shema Koleinu”, Hear Our Voice. Shema Koleinu marks 40 years since the first female cantor was invested. This year’s Torah Fund pin with its joyful women and musical symbolism expresses the right of every woman’s voice to be heard as we celebrate this anniversary.
This has very special meaning to us locally as the first female cantor invested is Elaine Shapiro Zimmerman, a member of or our B’nai Torah Congregation! It is most exciting that for our annual Torah Fund event, Elaine will be our honoree this year!
Torah Fund strives to make a significant impact through scholarships and programs that benefit the students at The Jewish Theological Seminary (New York City), Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies (Los Angeles), Schechter Insititutes of Jewish Studies (Jerusalem), Seminario Rabinico Latinamericano (Buenos Aires), and the Abraham J. Heschel Seminary (Potsdam).
Thanks to your generosity, we help committed Jewish students become the rabbis, cantors, educators, synagogue administrators, social workers, scholars, researchers, and lay leaders of tomorrow – for our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We align and impact those who value learning, knowledge, and provide the future generations with relevant capabilities to fortify the Jewish people.
